Messalonskee Trail Riders ATV Club (MTRA) is a volunteer-run ATV club based in Oakland, Maine. We build, maintain, and protect the ATV trail network that winds through the Oakland area, giving riders a legal, well-marked place to ride. Every trail we open crosses private property. Landowner relationships are the single most important thing this club does. We carry club insurance, install signage, maintain bridges, and work directly with the landowners whose permission makes riding possible. One careless rider can close a trail for everyone, which is why our motto comes first and everything else comes second: respect landowners as you enjoy the ride. Membership dues and donations fund every bridge plank, every trail sign, every piece of brush equipment, and every mile of maintenance the club takes on. Join us, ride legal, volunteer if you can, and help keep the Messalonskee trails open for the next rider.
